The Republican National Committee recently revealed its official party platform. Nestled within the platform is a section devoted to the “restoration of constitutional government”. The platform contradictorily undermines the right to vote – the very foundation of our constitutional government. Following the lead of lawmakers who have introduced such legislation in dozens of states, the RNC platform now endorses both restrictive voter ID laws and proof of citizenship requirements for voter registration.
