Misha is a passionate and driven communications strategist from Oakland, CA. Before joining the Advancement Project as a Communications Associate in support of the organization’s various programs, Misha worked as a communicator in the movement to end the school-to-prison pipeline. As a dedicated founding member of the Black Organizing Project, a community based organization working to increase police accountability and implement alternatives to policing in Oakland schools, Misha worked to lay the foundation for the organization's use of strategic communications and technology while providing communications support for the organization's city-wide organizing campaign titled Bettering Our School System (BOSS).
Misha also has training and experience working as a digital organizer and providing support for organizations looking to increase their online presence and effectiveness. Misha brings enthusiasm, creativity and a "by any means necessary" attitude to the movement for racial justice and the teams she works with. She was first introduced to community organizing as a student at San Francisco State University where she studied Political Science and was active in the student organizing community.
