Richael Faithful joined Advancement Project in September 2011 as an Equal Justice Works Fellow, after serving as a law intern in the summer 2010. Hir EJW fellowship is focused on the development of innovative approaches to transform Virginia’s lifetime voting ban for people convicted of felonies, within AP’s Voter Protection Program. Faithful is a recent graduate of American University Washington College of Law, where ze received the Peter M. Cicchino Public Service Award and American University Award for Outstanding Scholarship at the Graduate Level. In addition to interning at AP, ze also interned at the National Gay & Lesbian Task Force, American Constitution Society, Rights Working Group, and WCL/NIC Project Addressing Prison Rape. Before law school, Faithful earned a B.A. from The College of William and Mary in 2007, and was an apprentice organizer at Virginia Organizing. Currently ze serves at Notes Editor for the National Lawyers’ Guild Review.
